Hi, this is Chika from MACHICOCO staff. Today I'd like to introduce you to some reliable university students!
First up are the university students who run a share house near Machikoko, who were talking at the beginning of the year about wanting to make mochi (rice cakes) for the New Year. They're not just mochi friends...they're a powerful group of people! 💪 We connected last year through a staff member's Instagram, and since we resonated with each other's goals, we've been working on this project together.
A university student's perspective... gentle yet sharp.
We're planning to revamp the local factory experience event together, so the other day we went to the factory site together to brainstorm ideas.
I was invited to join them. It seems they were amazed and delighted, exclaiming, "Wow! That's incredible! You can do that?!"
And they come up with ideas like, "It would be fun to have a factory experience like this!"That's a great perspective. Lots of interesting ideas that are on-trend, like "Is that what's popular now?!" Fresh and very helpful. I bet their flexible thinking comes from eating mochi (they don't).
University students and local factories... what kind of chemical reaction will occur?
The collaboration on planning a hands-on workshop was the catalyst for connecting local factories with students.
"I wonder... what will we talk about? Will we hit it off...?"I was nervous, but...it was no problem at all.
We were having a lively discussion about environmental issues and other topics we all shared.
The university students were surprised to hear about the manufacturing industry, exclaiming "Wow!", and impressed to see the technology, saying "Amazing!!". The people at the local factories were also pleasantly surprised, saying, "We didn't expect them to be so interested!"
Witnessing the moment when conversations about society and craftsmanship were born across generations was truly a feast for the eyes. Thank you so much!
Unique examples and impressions 🍮
The perspective of a university student, which is different from that of the industry, is very refreshing. The "factory walk" series created by interns is another example of this.
>Interns showcase local factories! They love "Factory Walking"!
Here's a report from someone who infiltrated a foundry!
"What is casting...?"
It's a process similar to setting chocolate 🍫 or pudding 🍮!
Thinking of it as similar to baking might make it seem more familiar...?
We've also got another intern who's working hard at MACHICOCO Store, eager to learn about sales. I'm always energized and grateful for the enthusiasm of these university students who have such great ideas of what they want to achieve!
With the cold snap continuing, I've been wanting to replenish my energy lately.
Please take care of yourselves during the long weekend. ⛄️
