We held an injection molding and plastic mold basics course!

Hello. This is Chika from MACHICOCO staff. The other day,Injection Molding & Plastic Mold Basics CourseThe event was held, so here is a report on what happened.

I also participated as a student, and...it was way more interesting than I expected!!

Egg cartons, spray bottles, plastic bottles...the plastics around us are made using various methods.

"This looks flat, so is it a vacuum?"It's fun to look for clues in the shape and try to deduce how it was made.😊

You know how plastic bottles have a little bump in the middle? That's like a mark left by the plastic molding process, and it's a clue.

From now on, I think I'll enjoy trying to solve mysteries every time I see a plastic product.

You can experience "injection molding," the most representative manufacturing method.Normally, it's invisible because it's squishy inside the metal, butFor this course, the instructor, Tsushima Co., Ltd., specially created a "transparent mold" that allows us to see the material flowing!

Thanks to this, you might encounter situations like, "Oh no! It's clogged," or "It's spilling out, maybe the tightening isn't tight enough,"You'll notice tips and the causes of problems. It's incredibly interesting because you can see the underlying principle and phenomenon right before your eyes. After trying a few times, you'll get the hang of it! 😚

I've seen this guy before!!

What impressed me the most was the sense of déjà vu I got from those parts the other day...! They're like the parts that are connected together in a plastic model kit!

This was the path through which the resin flowed during injection molding. In this case, it was the T-shaped branching point. That makes perfect sense to me.

I'm injecting the resin myself, but it's difficult to make sure it spreads evenly, leaves no air bubbles, and doesn't overflow!

There's also a bear that's just a butt...The participants were delighted to take theirs home, saying things like, "You can't get something like this anywhere else, and my kids will be so happy!" (laughs)

This clearly illustrates the difficulty of mass-producing quickly, with high quality.

The process of making plastic and the structure of its molds. The story is interesting, the phenomena are fascinating to see, and the hands-on experience is also fascinating.

Even someone like me, who knew absolutely nothing about plastic molding, was able to understand it in an enjoyable way!

The next event will be held on Wednesday, March 17th at 6 PM, so please join us! 😊✨ Online participation is also possible!
