On the days when we're doing interviews for our projects, I'll be spending a lot of time at the company's premises!

Hello! This is Aoi from the Machikoko staff.

The other day, I spent a day at a factory to do research for the production of our company brochure.
They specialize in laser welding of thin sheets, low-distortion welding, and the fabrication of stainless steel tanks.Technofarm Co., Ltd.is.

When I'm interviewing companies for their company brochures or website creation, if it's my first time visiting, I spend the whole day there! That's something I'm very particular about. The actual time spent sitting and listening to them is about 1-2 hours. The rest of the time is spent taking photos and 'observing' them.

In reality, you can't get a deep understanding just by listening to someone talk for an hour or two. It's more helpful to observe the situation firsthand, noting how they communicate, what each person is doing, and then ask questions on-site if anything piques your interest.

Whenever someone wants to discuss something, everyone naturally gathers together and talks as a group. They might say things like, "Did that work earlier?" Just a moment ago, everyone was working on their own, but it seems like there are quite a few opportunities for them to communicate with each other.

The tools are neatly organized ✨ If someone is carrying something heavy, a senior colleague will immediately stop what they're doing and run to help 💪 During lunch break, everyone eats salad with the president's original dressing 🍅 (lol) If you spend a day there, you get to see all sorts of scenes.

These aren't the kinds of things we'd directly include in our company brochure, but...for example, the impression you get from just hearing the words, "We strive to deliver beautiful products to our customers," is quite different from the impression and persuasiveness you get from seeing the company as a "team" communicating extensively and heading to the site to deliver high-quality products.

Good relationships among employees = lots of communication = less individual-dependent work, teamwork on-site = if something goes wrong, someone will notice and stop it, thus maintaining quality...it's like a game of association starting here 👀

We were given time to speak with each employee individually, and one craftsman said, "I don't have the opportunity to see other companies while working on-site, so I'm not really sure what makes our company unique..." 💡That's certainly true. If you have something to compare it to, you can proudly say, "This is what makes us different!", but it's natural not to know if that's normal or special...

Speaking of which, even at Machikoko, we often struggle with how to communicate things about our own company, and frequently get hints from our customers and partner companies ✨

As part of our work, we visit various factories every day. Therefore, instead of simply publishing information we hear from customers during interviews, I believe our most important role is to identify and suggest points that make each factory unique from a third-party perspective. 💪 That's why observation time is crucial…! We often discover unique characteristics that wouldn't come across through words alone, and many wonderful points that customers might not even consider special. ☺️

Also, this is just my personal opinion, but if you spend a day there, you'll become friends with the staff and it's fun (lol). As you may have noticed from the photos, there are many young craftsmen.TechnofarmThere were many people around my age, and we had a fun time taking photos together at the end! Thank you so much for taking care of me all day.

After returning to the office, I put into words everything I felt and experienced throughout the day, and then I think about how to translate that into a structure and design... This is also fun. The production is finally starting! I'll write another blog post about what happens next 💪
