MACHICOCO CAFE, a cafe showcasing the craftsmanship of Higashi-Osaka, will open on January 10th.
The facility also includes a homework cafe where children can experience running a business.
MACHICOCO Co., Ltd. (Head office: Higashi-Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director: Kayoko Toya; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") is able to learn about the factory in Higashi-Osaka.MACHICOCO CAFE serves as a hub for disseminating information about manufacturing.We will be opening it on January 10th next year. This cafe will also include a "homework cafe where local elementary school students can experience running a business," and will serve as a place where people can easily drop by to communicate with the community, as well as a venue for local events.
Prior to our official opening, we are currently holding a pre-opening event to allow local residents to try out our services. We are also offering tours and tastings of our cafe menu to members of the press, so we would love for you to come and visit us.

- Everything at the cafe is about craftsmanship.
Our company moved its headquarters to its current location on November 26th of this year. The cafe is located in the space before the move. Based on the concept of "making everything we can ourselves," the counter kitchen, the tray shelves made of acrylic sheets, and the welded steel frame were all handmade with the participation of our employees and craftsmen from nearby factories.
- A realistic shopkeeper experience (business experience)
The Homework Cafe has a candy store, and the staff are all children. The children run the store, handling sales, purchasing goods, setting prices, and attracting customers. MACHICOCO's representative, Toya, who is also the owner of the candy store, teaches the children the knowledge necessary for running a business as an active businessperson. Through this "real shopkeeper role-playing" experience, which they can't get at school, they can learn about society and how businesses work.
This homework cafe was created in collaboration with students from Kinki University and Kyoto University of the Arts, and funded through crowdfunding, as a place where children can learn about society through hands-on experience, for the sake of their future.
- Interaction with the local community
The cafe is open Monday through Saturday and serves as a community gathering place, with the second floor space available for children to do their homework. On days and times when the homework cafe is closed, the space is also available to the public as a co-working space.
Additionally, the cafe and the space on the second floor can be rented out as a venue for local events.

"MACHICOCO CAFE" is based on the future of children.
- Through business experience, we aim to cultivate children who can think and act independently.
- By having children who visit the cafe develop an interest in manufacturing and then connecting them to "Little Meister," a manufacturing-focused extracurricular activity, we hope they will discover what they want to do in manufacturing and the manufacturing industry. As a result, we aim to revitalize the manufacturing sector.
- By holding numerous parent-child crafting events and manufacturing-related events in the same location, we connect local factories with children in the community. As a result, children will develop dreams of local manufacturing.
With the goals outlined above, we plan to expand "MACHICOCO CAFE" nationwide.

Opening days: Monday to Saturday. Cafe hours: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Homework and business experience sessions are available by reservation only, in 30-minute time slots from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Fees for homework and business experience: (tax included)
Ticket system: 11 tickets for 5,000 yen (550 yen per ticket, includes one drink).
First-time users can purchase a trial ticket booklet of three tickets for 1,000 yen, but only once.
